Windows to daydreams. Introspection. Quiet intensity. Breezes through fields of grass. Sunlight shimmering through tree leaves. Drama of stormy skies. Reflection on oceans vast personalities. Language in paint and color blended with buttery wax. Joy of tools in hand, scraping, blending, adding multiple layers. Following the muse. Absorbing my world and translating it through color, light and texture.
Quiet intensity and vibrant use of color are hallmarks of Melinda’s artistic style. Her paintings are windows to daydreams through abstracted landscapes. Collectors comment there is an “other worldliness” about her work. Melinda grew up in Colorado and Nebraska. She graduated with a degree in Textiles, Clothing and Design and worked as an interior designer in San Francisco. After many moves, both foreign and throughout the United States, she now calls the Central Oregon Coast her home. With each move, her experiences have been collected through light, color and paint.
Melinda has been painting full-time for over 30 years. Her work is in private and corporate collections throughout the US and Europe. Her artwork can be found at Earthworks Gallery in Yachats, Oregon and Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona.
